B PET FLASH DESIGN CHALLENGE
The goal of this project was to come up with a new logo supporting the creation of a Pets Private Brand - our only rules were to use elements of the 'B!' logo in some way with the word 'pet'. This was considered a "flash design challenge" because we had only 3 days to work on this before presenting to our VP. So to keep this process organized, our team decided to have a review meeting 1 day before the due date where we critiqued & narrowed down to our top 2 & 3 designs from each designer to give our VP great options. This meant I was challenged by creating 6 logo concepts in 2 days & my top 2 were chosen for the final round. Unfortunately this project was put on hold indefinitely.
Working as a Packaging Designer for Big Lots, not every project I took on required a full brand guide to be developed & not every project came with a trend guide or much information for us to follow, so these smaller projects were sometimes more open but sometimes had a super fast turnaround. Having a nice variety of creative projects kept things from getting boring at work.

HANGER DESIGNS - WOODEN 12 PACK
A different packaging type I've never tackled before, our Buying Team wanted me to create custom packaging for their product with a more upscale look. We couldn't do silver or gold foil to save on cost, so I utilized metallic Pantones here instead to achieve that. The initial goal was needing at least 3 designs done with a 1 week turnaround - competing against another designer on the team I came up with 5 & my design won. My final design was completed May 30, 2024 so this product could launch in stores by the first week of August 2024.
The Buying Team sent us an email with information, like this image, about the packaging type they selected for their 12 Pack hangers.
We always asked for the Dieline before we design for the packaging so we have the correct dimensions.
I presented 5 concepts to the Buying Team.
HANGER DESIGNS - VELVET SLIM 24 PACK
Our Buying Team wanted us to create custom packaging for their velvet hangers, something better than what the vendor could give them, with a generic look based on their chosen color palettes for each season. The hanger project began in January of 2024 & was an on-going project that was a fun change of pace that we would come back to work on whenever new hanger designs were needed.
We always asked for the Dieline before we design for the packaging so we have the correct dimensions.

These hangers would be on the shelf at the same time as the Real Living Vintage Vibes trend made by the senior designer so these needed to follow that feel for this season.
